The Theme

Calling for works of art inspired by the world of fungi! The style can be anything from realistic to cute to fantastical, but the subject matter must recognizably depict fungi/mushrooms.

Multiple entries are welcome, though a maximum of 2 pieces will be accepted.

Accepted Mediums

Traditional: We welcome all traditional art mediums (paintings, sculptures, textile/fiber art, collage, etc)

Digital: Digital painting and 3D sculpt prints must be unique one-offs (no reproduction). Honor system rules, if you read and understood this please add "1/1" under medium in your submission (ie "giclee print on canvas 1/1").

Print runs: We accept print runs (reproductions) for our merchandise section, but these will not be part of the gallery showcase. Priority given to local artists within SF Bay Area. Please write in the note that you are submitting for merchandise.

Photography: Feel free to submit, but please know our focus and direction is in painting and sculpture.

Unaccepted Mediums

AI generative art: All accepted submissions will be Synth ID checked, and portfolio-reviewed. So don't even try.
04.
All Artwork Must...
-
be no larger than 24"x36"(hanging art)
-
have a base no larger than 14"x14" (pedestal art)
-
be ready to display. Hanging art must have hanging-hardware such as wire, sawtooth, cleat, keyhole, etc.

be for sale.

Conditions

Artist must be 18 years of age or older, residing in USA

Artist is responsible for shipping and return.

Commission is 40% to gallery, 60% to Artist

If shipping framed artwork, artist must use plexi instead of glass, or other breakable materials.

Gallery is not responsible for damage occurred during shipping.
06.
Important Dates

The deadline for submissions is 11:59pm July 26, 2026
-
Acceptance and rejection notifications will be sent out by July 28, 2026
-
Accepted artwork needs to be delivered to Helvella by August 8, 2026
